In preparation for their First Holy Communion, it has been a school tradition to bring the 2nd. class pupils to the Mount Carmel Convent in New Ross where the communion bread is made by the nuns. The Mount Carmel Order of nuns are an enclosed order and they have had a connection with New Ross for many years. They were once famous for their lace making.
